Full Kaleigh Baker set live from Will's Pub in Orlando FL
“With hints of The Lone Bellow, ZZ Ward, Alabama Shakes, and even Darlene Love, Kaleigh Baker displays a breadth of sound and genre without sacrificing an emotional focus that fuels the album. “
"...Weary Hours is a striking fusion of the best of American for what are the true American genres of music if not country, the blues, and Motown. There's no unnecessary flash. It's a woman with a hell of a voice -- able to switch on a dime from a ferocious growl to a gorgeous croon at will"
“...this rising artist has a powerfully dynamic voice that makes you wonder if it’s only a matter of time before she graduates from small clubs to massive festival stages.”
Kaleigh Baker stopped by the WVIA studio to play a few tunes for an In The Office session.
The Groove Orient recently joined me in Deland, Florida for another episode of Off The Avenue. I can't thank the guys and gals over at North Avenue Studios enough for being so kind to me.
Meanwhile, Kaleigh Baker is belting out some of the toughest notes I’ve ever heard and nailing every second of it.
Among the many gifts given with both hands to formerly local, currently New York-prowling singer-songwriter Kaleigh Baker – aside from that Swiss Army knife of a voice – is her innate grasp of momentum. On her new EP, The Weight of It All, Baker and producer Justin Beckler play the puppet masters, building suspense without ever seeming coy about it
The folks that showed up were Ms. Kaleigh Baker and her saxaphone player, and instead of being armed with guitar and sax, they were armed with a cd, so I did something I’d never done before and don’t ever plan to again….I played a song on ninebullets radio that I’d not ever heard before it was being blasted across the airwaves. I was, to put it mildly, a little nervous about this, but it didn’t take much more than 30 seconds of the opening track, “Train Gone By”, to know that the show was gonna be fine. About 3 calls asking who I was playing later, I knew I was gonna be playing her a lot more.
Her name is Kaleigh Baker and she has one of the most sultry voices I have ever heard"
